Sending and Receiving Interac e-Transfers®


How to send an Interac e-Transfer®:

  1. Log into 1st Choice Savings and Credit Union’s Online Banking and navigate to the “Transfers” screen
  2. Set up your sender profile and add your recipient – make sure to create a Security Question for which only your recipient will knows the answer.
  3. Choose:
    -  how you want to notify your recipient
    -  the amount you wish to send
    -  which account the funds will be transferred from
    -  you can also choose to send a special message or memo to your recipient.
  4. Send! The funds are debited from your account immediately, at no cost!
  5. You will receive an email notification once the deposit is complete.

How to receive an Interac e-Transfer®:

  1. As a recipient, you will receive notification that you have an Interac e-Transfer®. Follow the links provided in the email or text message.
  2. Once you have answered the security question correctly, you can deposit the funds immediately – no holds, no hassle!
  3. It’s free to receive an Interac e-Transfer® to your 1st Choice Savings account.

Note: Interac e-Transfer® service is only available for Canadian-dollar accounts held in Canada. There are limits to the monetary amounts you can send. See Limits and Fees section.
